An ideal client
Do you find yourself wondering why you do what you do? Repeating the same patterns? Making the same kinds of choices, even though you are not sure how this could have happened? You're not alone. In my counseling practice, I'll guide you to learn how and why these things occur and what you can do to change it. We'll take a look at how your awareness is shaped by powerful forces-- more specifically, the thoughts and beliefs that may have been established when you were much younger. I'll help you find your truth, so you can better understand yourself, and make choices you feel proud of.
I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Deprogramming and Re-processing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and I lean toward the theroetical orientations of psychodynamism (psychological) and existentialism (philosophic) in my work. I use an approach called Emotion-focused therapy when I work with couples. Understanding behavior is my passion. I obtained my degree in Psychology at Ohio State University and I received my Master's in Counseling at Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona.
I offer secure online video meetings using Psychology Today's secure video services. I invite you to contact me if you have any questions, or are interested in learning more. To get started, you can learn more about me here or you can call or email. There is no time like the present to get you to feeling better

Empowerment is something that many of us struggle to understand and find in our lives. Through motivational interviewing I will help you discover your talents and abilities. We will then use that to find self confidence. I want to help you find YOUR voice, I know that the person inside of you has a lot to say and I want you to be heard. From a personal standpoint, I feel passionately about helping the LGBTQ community. I am an advocate for LGBTQ beliefs and rights and I love working with individuals and families that are navigating their own journeys.
Additionally, I love working with athletes and military families. As an athlete and military child myself, I want to help my clients as they recover from injuries, work through high demand athletic situations, navigate relationships, and how to overcome family pressure. I think it is very important to provide that openness and care one might need in the most toughest times. As someone who has navigated my own transitions--not just with gender, but just in life, I can do my best to help you become your best.
I enjoy working with the following populations and communities:
